violent screamo aus Stockholm, Sweden
‘You are Barabbas’, he exclaimed, ‘thy condemned’.
Barabbas, du förtappade is a four-piece screamo band from Stockholm, Sweden. The band formed in 2026 to be inspired by the faster, more aggressive screamo bands of the 90’s and early 00’s such as Orchid, Kaospilot and Neil Perry. Their releases include the EP Discourse (2017), the split release with German band Кальк [Kalk] (2020), the debut full-length Discussions on Existentialism (2023), and a split with ONLY released in 2024.
Across these releases, the band moves between fast and relentless emoviolence and more melodious songwriting. Their songs incorporate hardcore punk, noise rock, post-rock and requiem-esque build-ups, while retaining distorted textures, dissonance, abrupt shifts and high-pitched screamed vocals.
The lyrics touch on themes such as political apathy, urban alienation, personal loss, exhausting communication and decay of societal development, written in English, Swedish and Russian.
Performing live with the same energetic output as the music they write, Barabbas, du förtappade has toured extensively around Europe. They have conducted tours with Nuvolascura (US), Kid, Feral (SE), Alas and Letterbombs (FI), including performances on Fluff Fest (CZ) and Impact Fest (IT) and sharing stages with e.g. Loma Prieta, Majority Rule and Øjne.

soastasphrenas
emoviolence aus Berlin
soastasphrenas are a noisy emoviolence/screamo (sad & violent noise) band based in Berlin. The four-piece band formed in early 2022, and consists of members from Cyprus and the US: Mark, Chris, Alex and Nate. Σώας τας φρένας (soas tas phrenas) is an old, 18th-century Greek phrase that generally describes someone as being “of sound mind”- or to be mentally healthy.
Known for their energetic live shows and DIY ethos, soastasphrenas have been playing shows all over Europe- sometimes even hauling gear on trains to make shows happen.
